.handcrafted wearable architecture.
"My work is rooted in the ancient arts of adornment and architecture - expressed through the design and handcraft of distinctive ornaments and treasures. Each project is approached through the lens of a specific architectural concept or detail, and realized as a singular piece or collection of wearable 'art-chitecture'. By infusing the rich history, context, and structural details of architecture into my work, each piece becomes charged with the depth of creative investigation that results in the built world all around us - and allows the wearer to adorn themself with a human scaled piece of that world. As in architectural design, both structure and function drive the creation process of each wearable piece.
I've always been a maker... I've evolved from a childhood sheet-fort builder into a multi-modal artist formally educated in architectural design. Where I finally found the crosshairs of the childhood magic of imagination, and the depth and discipline of architectural design - is in the creation of wearable artifacts. Each piece I make is an expression of both my innate creativity, and design education background. Just as my childhood forts were enclosures for magic and imagination, so too are these wearable pieces enclosing a wearer's; wrist, neck, ear, or ankle in that same energy."
